COURAGE

Courage does not always shout . . . Sometimes it is a very quiet voice at the end of the day saying . . . I will try again tomorrow.

Nancy's Busy Tonight

I was somewhat disappointed that the cartoon didn't show up well on the blog. So here is the link to Erin Bonsteel's hugely entertaining blog, where you can view it in its entirety. What a talent.

Dear Granny,

I appreciate your comments and particulary the important and truthful clarification re: Mr. POTUS it was not a “tragic shooting;” it was a massacre.

"Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.” Oliver Wendell Holmes

Truthfulness in a government “by and for the people” does not only mean that the government should not engage in outright lying to its citizens. It also requires straightforward and honest communication as opposed to propaganda and spin. That means truly “fair and balanced” presentation of the facts and the arguments. As Lincoln stated in the Gettysburg address, our government was designed to be a government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Instead, we have let our government evolve into one by and for special interests, a government that has lost sight of the common good.
